Objectified
Watching the documentary "Objectified" by Gary Hustwit was quite enlightening for me.
The whole documentary essentially gave me the perspective of "simple is good" and made me open an opinion on apple's decisions in terms of sleek design. (They're still overpriced though..)
Essentially it taught me that most if not all of the things that surrounds me everyday had quite a lot of thought put onto it to make it as simple and usable as possible.
One particular part of the documentary that stuck to me was the better handles for the peelers. Most people like me wouldn't even imagine that someone designed this for a better and more efficient use.
So I recreated a lunch box usually found in Japan that is compact, and I believe will fit most bag and a lot more efficient compared to bringing a couple or more containers for lunch.
With lid, essentially a tight fit |
Sections inside the box for sorting |
Personally, I have come to this problem in my days during school, and I believe this container is a lot more efficient. (Props to the people that created this design)
I essentially think that is is similar to the idea of making better handles for the peelers. Having to lug one is significantly easier and more practical.
Bottom risers |
A bizarre bug of some sort when I tried combining the whole bottom part of the creation.
I have no clue what causes this, so I'm left with not combining it for the rest of the project.
It adds this weird mass after combing which is weird. |
Anyways, I think I pretty much went through what I learnt from watching the documentary.
